BMW X5 is most popular car with thieves

BMW's X5 is not just popular with the nation's footballers, it is in addition rather beloved by intruders, as it has been named as the almost all stolen car of the new year.

The German SUV retains its rather dubious name from 2009, and is definitely followed closely by kids Rover and another BMW – the M3.

Vehicle safety measures experts Tracker compiled the list from all the vehicles it recovered in the year 2010, and the top 15 is dominated by costly and high-powered machines.

The Audi RS4 had been the fourth most emaciated vehicle, followed by this TT. A trio connected with Mercedes – the SL, CLK and the ML SUV sit at six, seven and 10 within the list, with the Porsche 911 taking eight spot.

Perhaps the only shock is the inclusion of the Volkswagen Golf in their email list, which pops up at number nine.

"The VW Golf is an fascinating new entry at range nine, proving that it's not only owners of prestige autos who need to please note," said Tracker managing home Stephen Doran.

Further than the Golfs, there have been some other more cost-effective cars stolen, with any Peugeot 406 and a Ford Sierra also called as victims of fraud. The most expensive cars and trucks recovered were a Mercedes Benz CL63 AMG with £120,000 and any Bentley GTC at £one hundred thirty,000.

Stephen Doran continuing, "These figures show that most BMW X5 car owners are some sort of target for thieves. Is actually 84 per cent of all cars we recovered recently being stolen using the actual keys, we remind each car owner to hold their keys safe constantly."
